IPL 2022: Gujarat Titans become first team to enter to enter Playoffs

Gujarat Titans (GT), on Tuesday, May 10, became the first team to qualify for the Indian Premier League 2022 playoffs. Having won eight of their first nine matches in the tournament, the Titans were in a bit of a tizzy following their defeats at the hands of Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI). But he mustered up the courage to make it to the next round of the T20 Championship.

It has been a stellar season for Gujarat Titans. On the paper they may not look to be the strongest side but they have pulled several rabbits out of there hats in IPL 2022. Whenever loss seemed to be imminent the titans found some players or the other to raise their hand and lead them to victory.

However, both Gujarat and Hardik have proved the opponents wrong, winning 9 of their first 12 matches and making it to the playoffs ahead of anyone else. Gujarat's batting has been the sum of its share as it has found new heroes in every win. Gujarat, on the other hand, has one of the most impressive bowling attacks in IPL 2022.

GT pulled off a season-double over fellow IPL debutants Lucknow Super Giants, registering a 62-run victory at the MCA Stadium in Pune.

As GT qualified for the next leg of the tournament, the cricket fraternity took to Twitter to applaud the Hardik Pandya-led team for having been off to a great start season in IPL 2022.

Against spinners Rashid Khan and R Sai Kishore, Lucknow lost wickets in every possible way. Both Aayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya were completely ready to be stumped for long. In Between Marcus Stoinis was involved in a horrible mix-up leading to a run out for 2.Jason Holder is caught plumb from the front by a big leg break, while Deepak Hooda and Mohsin Khan fall in ugly swipes.
