Salvador Ramos, the teenager is assumed to be armed with a rifle and a handgun, by which the shooter opened fire on elementary students and staff people at a Texas school. A Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson told that in the mass shooting in Texas, a 66-year-old woman, 10-year-old girl, and 45-year-old victim are in serious condition.
It is suspected, by Governor Greg Abbott, that Salvador Ramos was apparently killed by police officers. Many teachers are claimed to be killed in the Texas school shooting. Parents of elementary school children have also posted on social media saying that, their kids’ teachers are killed. The whole kid’s family grieves the teacher killed in a mass shooting. It is believed teacher called Ms. Mireles, a teacher trained in bilingual and special education, also became a target under the open fire. Her cousin Cristina Arizmendi Mireles shared on Facebook. Parents and kids are stunned, angry, and heartbroken.
The same horrific incident took place in 2018 at Sandy Hook elementary school in Connecticut where 26 people were killed including 20 children. It has again ignited the heated debate on gun policies and the US constitutional right of Americans to keep arms.
The statesmen of the country shared their opinions on the mass shooting in Texas today. Former President of the US, Barack Obama, said: “our country is paralyzed, not by fear, but by a gun lobby and a political party which has shown no initiative to prevent these mass shootings.” After learning about the Texas school shooting, current President Joe Biden directed the country to put the flag at half-mast through the evening.
Biden made an emotional call against Gun lobbying- when, in God’s name are we going to stand up.” It was reported that Biden called to turn pain into action for every citizen, and for every parent.
