Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Lucknow in a dramatic Eliminator match in IPL 2022. In a match played at Kolkata's Eden Gardens Stadium, Bangalore defeated Lucknow by 14 runs. The Bangalore team successfully defended the score of 207 runs and restricted the Lucknow batsmen to 193 runs.The RCB, led by Faf du Plessis, will now play Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier on Friday. At the same time, the Lucknow squad has been eliminated from the event due to their loss. Rajat Patidar top-scored for Bangalore with 112 runs and remained unbeaten, while Jose Hazlewood claimed three wickets.

Dinesh Karthik (37 not out) and Virat Kohli (25 runs) played well. For Lucknow, captain KL Rahul scored the highest undefeated 79.  Apart from him, Deepak Hooda scored 45 runs.

Lucknow Super Giants did not get off to a good start in their chase of Bangalore's 208-run target.Quinton de Kock returned to the pavilion after scoring six runs in the second over.Following that, KL Rahul and Manan Vohra took up the innings and scored quickly. For the second wicket, they contributed 33 runs in 21 balls.Manan was dismissed for 19 runs in 11 balls.

After Manan's dismissal, Rahul along with Deepak Hooda took the innings forward and shared a 61-ball 96-run partnership for the third wicket.Rahul reached his half-century in 43 balls during this time. Hooda, on the other hand, returned to the pavilion with 45 runs in 26 balls.After Hooda's dismissal, Rahul kept trying to score runs alone but he did not get much help at the other end.Lucknow's side could only muster 26 runs in the final three overs, losing three key wickets in the process and losing the match.

In the opening over of the encounter, Mohsin Khan of Lucknow dismissed RCB captain Faf du Plessis for 0 runs. The innings was then taken over by Virat Kohli (25) and Rajat Patidar. They put on a second-wicket stand of 66 runs. By removing Kohli, Avesh Khan shattered the partnership.
